I would drop the "moments of general independence" line.  Let him establish that.  People already bend over backwards to praise his service, that's more than enough credit.  Also, I don't think the "seeking the support of Hillary supporters" line makes any sense.  He's a politician, he wants anyone and everyone who will vote for him.  Just focus on his horrible record on women's issues.

And, tie everything to Bush.
